Technology Microcontroller technology The wise use of electrical energy for heating requires a precise charge control. The DRT GmbH offers you a universal charge controlling system with most modern micro technology. This system enables energy supply companies and users to realize any kind of desired system-adaptation and -adjustment at any time. Latest, highly modern and fully embedded RISC microcontrollers from ATMEL guarantee a long-term investment protection. Speech output (world premiere at charge control systems) Our new products are now available with integrated speech output. Clear, well-to-understand language is often more helpful than difficult to understand abbreviated text, special characters or encoded information on an LCD display. The new central control unit Z950 has an INFO button for activating the new speech output: If desired, the user can call up an informative introduction to the electric storage heating, a short explanation or a detailed explanation of each menu item. Users with visual impairments can read aloud the current LCD-text by using the INFO button. Even better: The READ ALOUD option (settable in the SERVICE menu) reads aloud each change on the LCD display auto- matically, for example, if you switch to a new menu, change a setting or save changed values. Without looking at the LCD display, you are al- ways well informed, at which menu item you are and what the current setting is. A big advantage, not only for users with visual impairment! Reliability For many years, our systems and devices are known for the highest quality and reliability. To maintain this standard and to expand it in the next few years, we use complex and extensive procedures to improve our product reliability. The use of high quality electronic components, intensive EMC measures (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) and additional components for power failure bridging (RTC - Real-Time Clock) as well as fault- beam and radiation suppression (reactors, filters) are just some examples for the high efforts we invest in the development of optimal products. Fault tolerance External failures are detected by our products, are displayed and promptly compensated. For example, at an external sensor-break or -short- circuit, there is no full- or zero-charge, but there is a charge based on the mean temperature through out the last 24 hours. All error messages are displayed on the LCD display and can also, using the INFO button, be explained using the speech output. More than that: for every mistake there is a troubleshooting- and fixing instruction available on the speech output!
